In 2009, Grand Canyon University's grounds started take a shot at a $60 million grounds development venture which incorporates a 500-bed quarters, a 55,000-square-foot (5,100 m2) wellness and entertainment focus, 125-classroom office, sustenance court and knocking down some pins alley,[10] and a 5,000 seat enclosure. The GCU Arena, which opened on September 2, 2011,[11] is used for common and non-mainstream shows, speakers, and occasions, and being home to Grand Canyon University's Men's and Women's b-ball groups, and Women's Volleyball games, starting in the fall of 2013.[12] The three-year-old enclosure is now experiencing real extension starting in Spring of 2014 with the objective of extending to around 7,000 seats.[13]
